The high country dark and peaceful under the stars light
And the tiny breeding frogs are singing in Maldon tonight
September in early Spring their main breeding time of year
In ponds and in drains singing at night them one does hear
...

It will never become part of humanity
Equality for everyone never will be
And though it only can be quite a sad thing to say
Humanity works in an unequal way
...

The wild birds of Nature chirp, whistle and sing
On this beautiful evening in the early Spring
The sun shining bright in a sky blue and gray
It is such a marvelous September day
...

People who think they are unexpendable does tend to forget
That an unexpendable human being has not been born as of yet
Many wealthy and famous people to the ways of time have gone
And humanity as usual without them goes on
...

I love the old ballad or old rhyming song
Though to a long gone era they may belong
They bring back old memories of what used to be
Though long out of date in the twenty first century
...

Against the Country's best in his prime with success he did compete
And he remains arguably as the town's greatest ever athlete
Quite graceful in winning as well as in defeat
At his best he was always the one for to beat
...

In the World many good people kind and compassionate people not few
And this is not saying anything that is new
People who perform good deeds every day
And to help those in need of helping go out of their way
...

A sky full of stars such a beautiful sight
The magpies are singing in Maldon tonight
In the still air the flute like warbling so pleasant to hear
Of the birds who does sing every day of the year
...

Time that ages all it has become his foe
His travelling days over old Wandering Joe
He is clearly not the man that he used to be
He looks many years older than sixty three
...

Such beautiful weather of scarce any breeze
With a temperature high of eighteen degrees
