And he worked all around Duhallow and he was known for miles around
And he drank gallons of porter after short spells on the dry
And we all knew Denny Murray and his jokes we did enjoy.

A gale force wind there is no moon tonight
But in the high field I see dazzler light
It's someone lamping rabbits seems to me
Or Jimmy Cotter's ghost who knows maybe? .

In this World of great frustration
Brought about by aggravation
People have an inclination
To find comfort in desperation.

I left my love in Pine Tree Lane
When hedge was russet brown
I left her in November rain
When leaves were falling down.

Her daddy drives a big machine her Aussie daddy Murray
And he use true Aussie slang words like hey mate and no worries
And he feels proud of his little girl and he says that there's none better
For to pen short story or a poem or to even write a letter.

Joe Zinco is a young man from Lakes Entrance and on his birthday in March he'll be twenty four
He is working his way around Australia and he will go beyond his Homeland shore
South to New Zealand and then north to Asia and Europe and to the Americas maybe
By the bug of wander he's been badly bitten and in the bigger World there is so much to see.

But she doesn't use hair dyes or wear makeup for to hide signs of ageing away
And to those who ask her what age she is I'm not telling you she will say
The years may have left me looking older but I feel healthy and okay.
