In my basket full of shadows
Is a long and lonely night.
It swallows up the daisies,
It swallows up the light.
...
Eva, the glittering ghoul of all we know
Flitting past us to and fro
Metal eyes absorb the dark
As she feeds upon a lark
...
When I was a little girl, I heard a song
It bit like a winter wind, but didn’t feel wrong
Trees leaned down to kiss my head
They shared a secret, and this is what they said
...
Have you ever noticed the look in her eyes?
Can't sit still no matter how hard she tries
Got her guard up; walls built to the sky
I wouldn't get near that girl
...
Do you float in the sea?
Do you float like a bee?
Do you sting like love in a jaded heart?
Do you collect jewels?
...
Clouds flying by
Like the seagulls in the sky
Down at the beach
where she used to be
...
I taste it in the somber rain
You mark only your disdain
For wicked power humble
Only when ghosts remain
...
My mind is clear
My heart is pure
My hands are clean
So why do I sleep no more?
...
Inside of that hare in the bushes her priorities grow
Can you hear the lonely pack? Their broken family?
The bear is fishing with it's own hooks
I think you disturbed the sleeping jay
...
To start off in a situation would be too cliché
So I'll write about anything that happens to come my way
There is an orange cat that's on my bed
...
There is a world beyond your world
You would know that if you looked past your mirror
So come out, come out and play
...
I'm a blue boy in a red dress
My hat's adorned with pretty flowers
I am eye candy, sweet to the touch
I'm a goddess who has lost her powers
...
Is there nothing I can do?
Is there nothing you can prove?
Is there anything I should know?
As the glitches come and go
...
In the words of T.S. Eliot,
my world ends 'not with a bang
but a whimper'
Glorified is death in one's eyes
...
I'm looking for a place to live
Somewhere nice and not too big
Where we can spread our wings
And fly
...
Basket Full Of Shadows
In my basket full of shadows
Is a long and lonely night.
It swallows up the daisies,
It swallows up the light.
Crawling on the wicker
In between the stars
Is a little ladybug
That has strayed too far.
I usher it away,
Flying from these fears
I keep hidden in my basket
Hungering for tears.
This stringed wooden basket,
I hold dutifully on my arm,
Is my Pandora's box
I seal away from harm.
But if the planets should fold,
And the wicker shall break,
The stars shoot away,
For the heaven's sake,
I must reach inside
And tear heaven apart
And hide the shadows
In my stone heart.
