The Christmas Present
THE CHRISTMAS PRESENT
The Lady had a Mac Book Pro; its case was silver bright
For many a day it toiled away, she thought it was just right
With illuminated keypad, and a screen that was so good
For several years it behaved itself just like a computer should
As time passed by their then arrived
A Little I-Pad: Apple derived
And on the desk they did discover
Growing telepathy with one another
Then in the night with no one there
They found their files they could share
And they became so very proud
Communicating through the cloud
But as you know, before a fall
Pride can and will affect us all
Something went horribly wrong one night
They exchanged a defective software byte
In the morning both were ill
Systems crashed and standing still
She worked and worked and wracked her brain
To bring them back to life again
By and large she did succeed
But found there was a growing need
Twas time to put them both to rest
Replace them with the very best
All the time the programs hanging
On the wall her head a banging
Trying to sort the problems through
But in her heart she really knew
Nothing these days is built to last
Days are numbered, outdated fast
Obsolescence built therein
Manufacturer's guilty sin
So to end this tale of woe
I'll take her to a shop and show
Computers of each and every type
And hope there's one or both she'll like
Then without the slightest doubt
I'll pull my worried wallet out
And she shall have what she desire
To set her IT world afire
