you lie there effortlessly, you wait too
wait to be forgotten like the other ghosts I knew
unwillingly I fight time

Is that what you thought?
Were your words true?
Or was the slow slither of hatred
just easier to mouth

The words lie in the pit of my stomach,
they like it there.
Being protected, until old enough to leave.
You cannot pry open my mouth

I am to insecure to be a poet,
but for you I will try.
I will try to write about
how the moon looks so delightful in the sky,

Swallow your tears
because I am in your heart,
etched into the tissue,
like names on bark.
...

Doubt is a creature that feeds on the unknown.
It burrows in your brain
injecting its venom into your deepest roots,
uplifting your fears and hiding the truth.

Every movement is shadowed
every thought is yours
you own my life, you own my soul
I wish I could see you
...

what you became doesn't change who you were
I still think of you as everything I could hope to be,
as you faded I grew clearer,
but i'd distort to have you back.
