Dark Alley Ways

All of those days walking down the street
The dark alley ways
The feel like comfort somehow, in the darkness
Its like you cant see anyone and no one can see you
The favor of not worrying about your appearance
The dark, its like a tight hug
Reassuring you that no,
No one has to see that body that you own
Or that face that you made.

That day you realize you're not afraid of the dark anymore
Because those days of worrying of monsters
And goblins under your bed are over
You've grown up and finally realized
That all monsters are human
And you can only kill the things that bleed
As if you ever wanted to kill someone else
Besides yourself.

You cant remember the last time you thought of
Fields of flowers and colorful rabbits
Because its all replaced
With dark alley ways
That once reminded you of something you're not anymore
How can you hate something you craved
So much before so long ago
Before you turned into this thing you call 'me'
Before all the days when you thought that one person
Who held your heart that was and has always ever been amazing.

You always thought that if maybe one day when im gone
Who would care, who would be there
To put the flowers on my casket,
To cry the tears ill never see,
To speak the list of words never spoken to when my heart was still beating.

Those days wont be for awhile, because there are days,
When dark alley ways have street lights
When good people and bad people are combined
When there's hope in some conversation between two things that would never seem natural.

Just because the dark is your comfort, doesn't mean it cant be broken.
