Heather Owens Poems

Requiem for a dream
by sound so sweet
dreams of escape lay at its feet
by meaning so morbid
...

If I told you
how I really feel
would you hold me
would you kiss me
...

a song is a poem in motion
riding the wave
soaring the sky
falling with a thud
...

Memories fading,
mind erasing,
losing grip on reality.
Trying to remember,
...

All alone you are,
And all alone you’ll stay,
For you never let love come,
And never let it fly away.
...

forsake me
leave me be
loneliness
dear old friend
...

Did you see the fall
hear them scream
see them bleed
Did you rip their wings
...

Questioning existence.
Without form, texture
touch denied
do you exist outside the body
...

little angel
wings torn to shreds
why do tears fall
from shining eyes
...

10.

Sing to the bitter moonlight
watch and wait
as words of poison part the darkened shades
listen to the stilted rhythm of violins
...

I hide on the other side
I watch and sigh
as life loves and cries
I see these creatures
...

take me away
burn my eyes
no more light
blind in the yellows
...

fingertips dip into the vortex
coaxing out the feathers of desire
wisps of beings vapid in their feelings
they coalesce into the object
...

the turn of fate
in a delirium haze
gone are inhibitions
here is the excess
...

15.

I wish for words to say
words to have been said
tell you stories
the stories of my life
...

Drain it raw
let the blood pool
the skin re-stitches
the veins close up
...

I find myself alone
the tears slide gently
down to the barren ground
my knees start to shake
...

What would you think if I showed you true despair?
Swallowed your dreams, took away your air.
Gripped your neck, tore your seems
Threw you away and left you to bleed.
...

Will you answer my call
running toward me
will you see my pain
holding me down
...

Can the light shine down from the heavens?
Could it sooth the pain of living in this dark place?
Is it only there to make us suffer?
Knowing that it's just out of reach?

Heather Owens Biography

*Please Comment on my poems! * I love writing poems and dream of writing books. Only as a hobby though. I also like to give my poems weird names. I don't write my poems the same way each time. Each has their own rhythm, while only a few rhyme. I've noticed how titles affect a poem. If titled first the poem is controlled and ordered. If titled last, the poem flows with a life of its own. Both are excellent ways to write. One is about finding the words to convey, and the others is about searching for what to say.)

The Best Poem Of Heather Owens

Requiem For A Dream

Requiem for a dream
by sound so sweet
dreams of escape lay at its feet
by meaning so morbid
a solemn chant of repose
a dirge of feeling
a mass of death
for the dead unliving
to be laid down
in silent dreams
as hearts unbeating
shrivel and crumble
time sings
and beats on
forever
