Just A Peek

People come and go,

Some leave us with memories,

Some leave us with lessons,

But despite how good a person is,

They will not be there permanently.

We all have this person,

This one person who makes our life worth living,

Our burdens worth bearing,

Our pains worth ignoring

And our smiles worth stretching.

Someone who makes us laugh till we've tears in our eyes,

Someone who cares enough to be overprotective at times.

Someone to whome we can tell anything and everything,

Someone we can count on through thin and thick,

Or someone who will hold our back in everything.

Some times it is just the girl that smiles and says hello every morning,

Or it is the guy who tells us to keep on fighting and not give up.

At times it is that person that inspires us a lot but we've never talked to them,

And other times, our driver who always makes us laugh on our way to school.

Yes, it is all these people so dear and precious to us.

However we always wait for the perfect time to express it

And regret it after they are gone.

The right day to say 'I love you, mum' because we too afraid,

Or tell our father how grateful we are for all he has done.

We even can't let our friends know we love them without being afraid of sounding 'wrong'.

Time takes from us what we have,

And leaves us with distant memories of regret-filled hearts.

Better seize the opportunities and hold tight onto them,

Then live it up and let everyone know how much they mean,

From the soccer-loving brother to your inspirational mentor, let them all know.
