India Gilmere Poems

The flowers wilt, the birds weep.
The sun is gone, the wind is out.
The buildings tilt, the cars no longer beep.
No money is withdrawn, cause all are asleep.
...

Shall I compare my mother to the sun?
shining in the dark so brightly,
slowly setting when you are done.
All through the night you wait and hold tightly.

Darkness In The Sky

The flowers wilt, the birds weep.
The sun is gone, the wind is out.
The buildings tilt, the cars no longer beep.
No money is withdrawn, cause all are asleep.
All to be seen is darkness in the sky.

Children are no longer playing, laughter has been put away.
The leaves are stirring, the stars have disappeared.
Where are people staying? In their homes where they decay.
Blackness is what the world is wearing. Yes, darkness is here.
But still all to be seen is darkness in the sky.

All happiness is gone, fun is over.
People are dying, people are crying.
All wish for the morning song, but the hurt and pain is not yet over.
Through the air evil is flying, and the air is slowly drying.
But still I repeat all to be seen is darkness in the sky.
