Jake Howard Poems

Weakening arms and a stopping heart
Make themselves known and I know:
That I'm as mortal as most
...

An evening walk, early summer,
Buildings mingle with the sky.
An intangible something crowds in,
And you say:
...

A life is a tangled line of thought,
Knocked and battered into shape
By those entangled too.

Jake Howard Biography

I'm originally from Sheffield in the UK, but moved to Manchester in September 2008 to study English Lit. My 'poems' were written as lyrics, but I think they work ok without music. The music to the words can be found here: http: //www.myspace.com/jakehoward86)

The Best Poem Of Jake Howard

Atheism

Weakening arms and a stopping heart
Make themselves known and I know:
That I'm as mortal as most

This clause
I dreamt
That all's
Not spent
Is false
I know
It ends
I know

Stopping, quitting would've held it off
Though even without that I'd think
That something divine would make itself known
And force me far back from the brink

Not some God or some bright light,
But a reasonable request to whoever
Saying: 'I've had thought and vision for sixty years,
The end can't exist, I'm forever. '
