James Trusler Poems

The wave of denial.

Inhibition won't win this battle,
To take you around the next bend,
...

A field of green,
Why do i sit here?
An ocean of blue,
Why do i weep here?
...

As another sun is drowned by the horison,
I think to myself - what have I achieved;
Bowing my head in shame,
I follow the path of Helios,
...

To the drums of war, my heart beats,
For you, the ends of the world seem so tangible.
I can't stray from the path, I never hesitate a foot.
I step in for the kill.
...

Life injects minds with haste too quick,
The feeling subsides to choose,
What the creative sponge will suck up today,
Like a vulture in the burning winds.
...

Lets have a dream,
Lay by me,
We'll go make a raft,
And float in the sea,
...

Over the hills,
Through the trees,
Grass,
Sand, water and sky.
...

Close your eyes and listen to music.
You will soon realise the torment when you can no longer hear it.
It should not be a difficult activity to appreciate reasoning in music and yet I am blinded by the splinters of my mind.
Is it so unnatural to yearn for something that is quite distant from reality. To yearn for something that is beyond desire's elasticity.
...

What a way to waste a life.

Stand up.
Walk out.

Concrete Waves

The wave of denial.

Inhibition won't win this battle,
To take you around the next bend,
To wrap you around yourself,
To stand up against all odds.

Purity, evanescence, vigilance.
Communicate inwards...
Become kinetic.

It's a break from yourself.
Absence.
Unregistered.

Beaten to the beat,
Re-folded and disarmed.
...

And breathe.
