The Best Poem Of James Wilde

Because I Love

My heart still drags me around
I've never had a friend like you
There for me when I've been down
Picking me back up and dusting me off
Days and nights doing nothing but talking, talking, talking...
Sharing out biggest secrets, worst fears, and strongest emotions
I have to admit I love you, and I have since we met
I was always told that the best loves start with the greatest friendships
Our situations are something we can't control
The future can never be planned out, we have to just go with it
But sometimes when you want something and you get it, you become afraid
Who doesn't?
Sometimes even the best of friendships end, people drift
It is true with all things in life, they can end
Sometimes you have to take the chances and face the fears
I'm not a perfect human, no one is
I do worse things to myself than anyone ever has
Some days it's all I can do to get up in the morning
But you are always there
making me laugh, making me cry, reminding me why I am here
We will all die someday, sooner or later, old or young
I've come to accept that, and I’m ready for when it happens
I'm ready to look back on my life and look at it
My biggest fear isn't death
it's when time comes and I look back, what will I say to myself
Did I take all the chances?
Did I take the risks and try and make every day the best it could be?
Did I tell everyone I loved that I did?
Did I kiss the ones I want to kiss?
Right now I have to say, 'No, I did not.'
Because I've never kissed you
I've never wrapped my arms around you and held you tight
I've never whispered in you ear and told you I love you
Don't be the one that got away, I have too many of those already
