Have you ever told someone you didn't want to leave that your leaving?
In hopes that they would get up and follow you
So you say bye I'm gone
And you start walking away
You turn around and they haven't moved a step
So you say I'm not kidding bye
And you walk a little further
But you still turn around cause you think your company is so great they'll follow after you
But they don't and your too far to turn back
So you keep going
A little faster and a little further
Turn back around and realize they haven't made even one move in your direction
As you keep walking further and further You feel ashamed cause you always thought you were worth following
Worth chasing even
Many people have chased after you even though you prefer they didn't
So you wanna go back because you miss their company
And even though you were standing still with little progress in getting anywhere before,
you were with them and it felt good
Yes it did have its painful moments but you could've still stood it in hopes of better moments
It's too late now though your too far away and your pride won't let you walk back.
You walk down the path and you meet new people say hi hold brief conversation with some
You even have some of them walk with you
But their not them
You miss them
Something about someone not willing to chase after you makes you want to chase after them
Something about someone who stands their ground makes you wanna stand with them
So slowly but surely you find another path and you start walking backwards towards them although you lie to yourself that your not going back there
Eventually you run into him
As you knew you would
Something about the fact that you came back makes them
feel more confident
Much cockier than they usually were
They continue to stay in the same place and pick up from where you left off
Except this time when he makes mistakes he doesn't even look uncomfortable
Because he knows and you know you wouldn't dare begin walking away again
And you don't because
you know
And he knows
he'll never follow
