Jason Danner Poems

The sun rises
And glistens
Somebody surmises
And whispers
...

The king is dead,
The princess is gone,
And the villains have seized the day.
...

God's reasons
Are seasons
That change over time.
But seasons of change,
...

IS THIS LIFE?
These thoughts are dark and twisted
Strange and different
Something's missing
...

The rivers' flow,
A majestic glow,
of Blue, an white, and green
And washed ashore,
...

CLOUDS
Above the clouds,
I'm looking down,
At town, That's so far away.
...

NO INTENTION TO HURT
I brush back her hair,
Left hand on her face,
Into eyes we stare.
...

Its a day of rembrance
A day of sadness,
as it fades to blackness,
and all i remember from them is laughter
...

I'm breathing in, the chemicals
To rise above, my place on Earth
And if I fall, through this cloud,
My mind shall fly, my soul is found.
...

There is a monster in my head, in my head
He makes me think these thoughts, think these thoughts,
And this is what they are, what they are
...

I'm in a dark place,
In a dark room
With dark thoughts
And a dark heart.

Duality

The sun rises
And glistens
Somebody surmises
And whispers
Some people are higher
But others are the difference

But to a child
In the system
It’s hard to hear the difference
If all you do is listen
Impossible to see the resemblance
If you only use your vision.

People are different
Some wiser
And some ignorant
There are misers
And the generous
The Kaisers
And the peasants
There are liars
And the innocent
Those of us hard-wired
And those turned to pilgrims
The wild and wicked
But some just magicians.

But to a child
In the system
it’s hard to hear the difference
If all you do is listen
Impossible to see the resemblance
If you only use your vision.

The scale of barterers,
Is in their decisions
There are martyrs and victims,
Crusaders on missions,
Rulers and their decisions,
Populations with provisions
A system of divisions
Based on pigment,
wealth, and religion.

There are those who want homogeny
But others that support dichotomies.
Those who support ideologies
Others who want better for their progeny.

But to a child
In the system
it’s hard to hear the difference
If you only listen
Impossible to see the resemblance
If you only use your vision

Every man is measured
But we all get measured different
Some of us in inches
Others by their forgiveness
Some for their needs
and some by their deeds.
Some with their gold
Others by their debt
The people that we hold
And the ones we never met
Some who will fold
And others that will bet
Those of us bold
And others with regrets.
Some of us are molds
But we are all just silhouettes
