deep in
my mind

back in the deepest
recesses
(where no one wants to go)
inside a mind
...

What wild and hellish beast devours and stings,
consumes the time we spend upon this Earth,
and speeds us to our final song to sing
while robbing life of all its joy and mirth?
...

O kindred soul of mine, I miss your voice.
I wish the Lord had left you for a time,
but oh my dearest friend there was no choice
as you sought peace outside this land of rhyme.

When chilling breezes brush the trees
and frosty mornings wilt the leaves,
beguiling, winter's fingers tease.
The lulling summer sun will grieve
...

Farewell despair, I bid you, flee,
My grim, destructive enemy.
For love looks on with out-stretched hand
Awaiting my defensive stand;
...

Young phantom muse seduce my words,
revive me with your fire
and bathe me in your passion's flow;
poetic dreams aspire.
...

The beauty of her azure eyes,
Still hides a lonely girl inside.
She'll let you see through her disguise
And show you all the tears she's cried.
...

Embedded in the graveyard of my mind
there lies a haunting, fervid memory.
Encircled by unyielding chains that bind
it's buried deep, restrained from breaking free.

Within the confines of my heart
I'll hide this flame that burns for you,
until the passion we impart
becomes a fire of love that's true.
