Joan Sacre Poems

Gosh! Oh gee! I'm an O.A.P.
Oh what am I going to do,
I have worked all my life,
Through trouble and strife,
...

Someday I know I will have to part
With the family I hold so dear
This message comes right from my heart
To you all when I'm no longer here. The memories I carry of when you were small,
...

Oh how did I find you
Dear Can Moner Vell
Your welcome and warmth
I remember so well. I have waited with patience
...

On Retirement

Gosh! Oh gee! I'm an O.A.P.
Oh what am I going to do,
I have worked all my life,
Through trouble and strife,
And feel just a little bit blue I just cannot retire,
I still have lots of fire,
And plenty of vigour and vim,
I can dance, and can sing,
Do most everything
But alas never learned to swim. I can waltz, do the tango,
But not the fandango,
In a quickstep or rumba take part
And 'tho I'm in a spin,
I can say with a grin,
I intend to remain
Young in heart.
