And That Is How It Goes

and that is how it goes.
Never easy to comprehend, the puzzling look of self pity encroaching; encumbering itself beneath the façade you display.
Consuming what you thought was strong and beautiful.

Watching you ingurgitate what we called “nepenthe”, when really we knew it was to escape hardships for what we thought we didn’t deserve. While waiting for the shadow of death to befall us, we quote the lords words believing like a wayfarer that we will indeed make it to heaven.

Gazing into your now empty eyes, I see they have became lost, lust-less souls, but I remained adamant in hopes of finding the sparkle that embraced and comforted me in the start of our relationship. As I grow deteriorated I struggle to keep you in view,

Hand in hand, walking along the banks of where we had our first date… the moonlight hitting the pond your eyes… I turn to you and whisper…

I awoke, with a hazed memory and head which felt as if it was splitting in two, carrying a loud ringing noise, which ceased once the curtain opened and you were in full view. I turn to you with watery, winced eyes and whisper… darkness overshadows, overpowers me and for that brief moment the ringing returns.

I whispered… “I will never leave you”
