Johnny Watt Poems

If I bit a sandwich
and my tongue then did turn blue
I would stare with widest eyes
and ask if yours did too.
...

the vapor trail
threw the monkey wrench into my plan of attack
when the ship set sail
it carried the maps that led them all back
...

Red licorice lips
a long white dress

swift silent barefoot steps
...

From holding hands in summer heat,
Now Submerged below, in this freezing deep.

Flailing arms did help us not,
...

The heartfelt sound of a child's weep makes everyone more withdrawn.

Startled and awake from a gentle sleep, when nothing was ever wrong.
...

I know there is a place in the distant beyond, where all inhabitants live as one.
Where sparrows swim.
Where flounders fly.
Where all prayers are praises to the sun in the sky.
...

I carefully traversed through this field in may,
Where the blades of grass were actual blades.

Aching limbs,
...

A million a day amongst the haze.
Every breath is stinging worse now that the silence has ceased to exist.
Trolleys and follies help filter the bliss and melancholy.
I'm digging the deep hundred mile holes.
...

We travel through sunlight and falling leaves,
On the road of orange peel and poppy seeds.

The sidewalks are plentiful with towering oaks, and on shiny brass benches sit happy just folk.
...

Whispering eyes peek down from crimson and amber nighttime skies.

So beautifully unreal.
I smiled up from the tall grass field.
...

As I wash this augmenting wound
With the salt from a crystal moon
My fierce cry rings out to the midnight city streets
Into the bedrooms of those done counting sheep
...

We swear we found answers,
Though none were really found.
So bold to believe you have figured this out.
...

Coiled in the void with our hands held tight,
When the sun and the moon first met.
As the cymbols crashed, the waves would splash,
Yet our hair was never left wet.

On Summer Trees & Ashy Knees

If I bit a sandwich
and my tongue then did turn blue
I would stare with widest eyes
and ask if yours did too.

If I fell asleep
by a fire burning bright
would i then dream of volcanos
or gates of pearly white?

I think that I must go now
no nonsense left to share
I'll hold my breath and close my eyes
and vanish through the air.
