Jonathan McWilliams Poems

It’s been awhile since I’ve cried
Since a storm has dwelled deep inside
Years now since I’ve thought of you
Your memory brings a tear or two
...

Murder, sport, it’s not for food
You’re Unaware and I feel joy
The way I kill you will be crude
Surely you, I will destroy
...

Guts, blood, and my crushed skull
My liver dangles, the thuds have stopped
I’m still alive and I won’t die
But with this body I won’t get by
...

Its Been Awhile

It’s been awhile since I’ve cried
Since a storm has dwelled deep inside
Years now since I’ve thought of you
Your memory brings a tear or two
Can it be that I’ve moved on?
Have I accepted truth that you’re gone?
I wonder what I have suppressed
Crack my mind and then undress
The thoughts I hide the emotions cloaked
I used to lie on pillows soaked
With tears that stem from sorrows shroud
Hoping you looked down from clouds
But I know the scoop you won’t come back
Without your guidance I keep on track
Been so long fact turns to lore
Sorrow so heavy can’t carry it no more
