A Man Called Truth

There once was a traveler who went searching for a man called truth.
He had traveled far and wide, yet no one knew where Truth did make his roost.
He had almost given up, saying “Truth is just a myth.”
However, he soon came to a small town where they said that truth had and did exist.
He pleaded and begged for them to tell him whoso, what, and where.
They pointed to the woods and said, “Truth has always lived in there.”
He quickly grabbed his things and trudged off and towards the wood.
He would finally see this man called Truth, he would find him if he could.
As he entered into the wood he could see the footprints on the ground.
His heart filled with hope he shouted out, “Truth must have been around.”
He followed the footprints briskly deep into the wood.
When finally he came to where a small quaint cabin stood.
He ran up to the door to knock, his eyes would finally see.
On the door was a note, “This is the home of Truth, where he is and has always been.”
He knocked hard with no answer, as he waited at the door.
He pressed his ear against it; he could hear no footsteps on the floor.
He could wait no longer he opened it up and entered through.
He would not have defeat; this was where his searching had led him to.
The place looked small but was warm and clean.
It was quite obvious that it was a place somebody had been.
The table was set and a fire was lit.
There was a bed, a table, and chairs in which to sit.
The place looked of promise; surely this was Truth’s abode.
However, as the traveler looked around Truth was not home.
He waited for hours and hours, late into the night.
The longer he waited the more he wondered if the villagers had been right.
He soon got impatient, frustrated, and stormed out.
He said “if I cannot see Truth then all that fills me is doubt.”
The traveler went back to the village and began to ask around.
“Why did you lie to me about the man named Truth that lives out of town? ”
The Villagers said, “Did you not see where the man Truth does abide.”
The traveler said, “I did not see him, why does it matter where he presides? ”
The villagers continued and tried to convince him that Truth did exist.
But the man would not accept, he held that Truth was just a myth.
He said, “How can you believe? You are all mad.”
“I am not as naive as you and for that I am glad.”
They said, “We believe because of what is and what we can see.”
The man turned away, left, and whispered, “that’s not good enough for me.”
