Your twighlight years were fraught with fears,
you often knew not, what was what.
People, faces, who were so dear,
became confusing and unclear.

The mist of memory dulled your mind
it took away some precious time.
Years have flown, but in that space,
we still could see your happy face.

80 hoped but not achieved
now we're just totally bereaved
life has been too short a trip.
18 more were what we wanted

your support and love was always a given
with plenty to share for all of us here
if sometimes a little extra was needed
you always found strength to battle us through

Poem For Thomas King 29.04.1924

Your twighlight years were fraught with fears,
you often knew not, what was what.
People, faces, who were so dear,
became confusing and unclear.

Now and then the veil would lift,
for seconds sometimes nine.
You seemed to remember us,
though only one at a time.

But comfort came, with a hand held tight.
It calmed you more as not.
And it fell to your dearest Sylvia,
to be your solid rock.

Now time has won, you've gone ahead,
to rest in peace and calm.
While illness took, and mind erased.
You will never be forgot.
