The man stood upon the stage for all the world to see
A little girl waiting with bated breath to see who the villain will be
The man's cue comes in the form of a figure cloaked and hooded in shadows
It took out a necktie for our actor looking oh so sallow
He had on his Sunday best this day though they were ruined with blood and dirt
A menacing dark red stain was all you could see of his one nice shirt
His necktie was placed roughly upon him accompanied by raucous cheers
Yet if you looked upon his face you would see a stream of silent tears
Suddenly his new accoutrement tightened menacingly forcing the man to gasp
He looked into the audience and said ‘I love you' as barely a rasp
The little girl's eyes started shining like the stars in the sky
But only after his feet started swinging did she begin to cry
His standing ovation he will never hear
For he will be sleeping away the rest of his years
