The Girl Next Door

One year ago
on my journey through life
I became your neighbor,
soon to be your wife.

I confess I thought
you were cute from the start,
but wouldn't have guessed
you'd soon own my heart.

Not too long after,
missing one of each shoe,
her bottle of gin
brought me closer to you.

Two is company,
three is a crowd.
Eliminate one
for crying out loud.

From that day on
it was plain to see,
Karen wants Jeff
but does he want me?

Afraid to be hurt
we had some close calls.
Love won the war,
broke down those damn walls.

Not sure of our future,
one thing is for certain,
this show isn't over,
no closing that curtain.

You ask if I love you
or am I for real?
My answer is yes,
play the cards that I deal.

No need for insurance
but double your bet,
you won me hands down
from the moment we met.

It drives me crazy each day we're apart
but that's only physical,
you're always in my heart.

My mind is consumed
with thoughts of Fish Shady,
I love you so much,
I'm one lucky lady.

Can't thank you enough
for letting me into your life,
we'll write our future together
as husband and wife.

Can't wait to hold you
again in my arms
and plant that huge garden
we call 'Fisher Farms'.

I'll always be faithful,
trust me, it's true.
You're my best friend,
I'll always love you.
