Stand There

A cold rush of sweat over my body
and I've never felt so clean
in my life.

Throw your words away and they'll come crawling
like I did so many times.

Save your aces
to make straight faces
wrapped around your soul
like a heart shaped bracelet.

So don't stand there waiting for me
leave your words they start to bore
me.

I'm not the sad little girl I was
no need to wait for the
applause
so take a bow.

Because the camera's rolling
but my heart's not falling
so much for knowing
there's no need for stalling.

And it's hard to fight the feeling when it's the
only
part of you that's still breathing.

And I know
that you'll fight the shadows
because you're the brightest star that I've ever seen and

there's no point believing that I won't be here then
because you mean more than some old school dreaming.

So don't stand there waiting for me.
