Kathryn Garner Poems

This is a stolen identity
Because I’m bent on forgetting me
All left is my eyes
And I think their gonna die
...

come save me
theres something more to me
shes got it in a promise ring
given by her love
...

Wish you had a heart to kill
Wish I had a heart to steal
And in your mistakes
I wish you could feel
...

my eyes burn more than a rising sunset
provoking the horizon to dare
and arise to the challenge
every time i look at you
...

looking in the full sized mirror
that still fits to my size
then the fabrication of myself is so much nearer
and decieving
...

If I could kill you with a kiss
If I could kill you with the words
Dripping from my lips
I surly would take your soul tonight
...

give me a love to turn away
another hopeless cause
anohter defiled way
to keep me from running to you
...

so that ambulance just went by
and if you were high
the flashing lights would be a show
red as the blood she spilled
...

9.

Live can be anything but living
Death by stuck up apologies
Engrossed by forgiving
...

And I go giving away my life
Knowing this is the best way to survive
I see those angels and I cry
For a world that’s gone and died
...

I can dream of your breathing
Did you ever think of what you were leaving
Behind, so we can suffer our own pain
Crying over your fame
...

This corpse is so far past due
And I swear this isn't you
I can feel your soul inside
And I thank god, it hasn't died
...

The new day is now falling
Into this dead field
Your warmth is withdrawing
From all that I feel
...

there is nothing here
nothing but waiting to burst
while soaking in drugs and beer
to rid me of a lifeless hurt
...

the time, the story in a mind
i can lay here, in a place forgotten
cold fires so outlined
memories earned is all they've gotten
...

youve left her, standing on her toes
bleeding for all the things she cant let go
a dancer slowly dying
in the process of her passion
...

with the closing prayer
she ran away from them
ran away to meet him
...

i have gone searching
for the man with
with the eyes so deep i will drown
and not care
...

in her deepest sorrow
she ripped open the envelope
of skin
...

i have become entangled
inside my empathy
which has in turn, strangled
my love, my life, to tragedy
...

Stolen Identity

This is a stolen identity
Because I’m bent on forgetting me
All left is my eyes
And I think their gonna die
Don’t look in, you can see me
I’d rather wear this stolen identity
Exactly what they want to see

I’ve got the lock on the door
Don’t force yourself to love me anymore
You don’t need to
I’m now something new
But its not really me, it’s all for you

He put the stitches on the cut
When she’s perfect, then there’s love
She’s perfect in this mask
Hiding his shame at last
Because without identity goes the past

No, I can’t look up to your eyes
I know I’ve got something else in me
It’s breathing hard, it tries rise
Like the third of a trinity

No, I’ve got this at last
Now I’ve found the perfect mask
And I’ll shake these thoughts with this flask
Because with this failure goes a past
That he never wanted to see
A part that was forced to bleed
But with this identity goes stitches
Though it bleeds, though it itches
But I’m sewn up, strung out, all you’ll ever need
Though these stitches bleed
