The Ruler

The Ruler is Dead
'Tis true, he died of greed
Lust and desire for excessive life.
The reigned died ceremoniously
Stripped of human rights
Hopes and dreams
Trodden down good fortune
Freedom and justice.
And who then took his place?
The Ruler who will die
Of greed and lust and desire
For excessive gain.
His cause—forgotten in antiquity
Sometime in the distant future.
The people-
No opulence for those overpowered.
Price paid
By people pilloried—the death knell
Of the Ruler’s Reign.
