Kevin West Poems

It was Valentine's Day when I heard the news
I should be singing love songs, not singin' the blues
We weren't even related so why do I fret?
It's because of all those memories that I'll never forget.
...

We did dance tonight.
It was the merengue.
I
Couldn't help but feel
...

What scares me the most is tomorrow is never a guarentee.
Each day has to be lived like it is our last,
Because that's how it's meant to be.
And as long as these days keep on coming,
...

A boat is made in a shipyard,
But that's not where its fate remains.
The crashing waves it will overcome,
The terrential storms it will float through;
...

Have you ever longed for something
So much
That it hurt?
Like if you walked another step without it, him or her
...

Kevin West Biography

My favorite poets are Charles Bukowski, Pablo Neruda, and EE Cummings. I'm not a big French Renaissance guy, and I love poems about deep human emotions like love and hate. Aside from writing poems and such I love weight lifting, football, music, and hanging out with my girlfriend. On the outside I seem rugged and tough, but I am much deeper than that.)

It was Valentine's Day when I heard the news
I should be singing love songs, not singin' the blues
We weren't even related so why do I fret?
It's because of all those memories that I'll never forget.
The way you'd tickle me till I wet my pants
Or listen to jazz and watch you dance
We would race racecars every single chance
And you would make me feel welcome with a single glance
I'll remember these things until my demise
And these things will always bring some tears to my eyes
But life is many segments full of smiles and cries.
I'll always remember when you would suprise
Me with fancy little lit up toys
Little gadgets that would make happy little girls and boys
Or how every Christmas thngs would be out of control
And you would restore the peace and and try to consol
The victem of a dark holiday
But not just then, I knew you could do it everyday.
It's a mystery to me what did take your life
But I will never been seen with pain and strife
And I know it will feel like the cut of a knife
When I think of all the good times we had.
