My Son

Twenty years ago I gave you life
For twenty years I meant no strife
You hide inside with all your pain
I know you blame me, I know

I miss you every moment
I want to heal what I have caused
You will not let me in
How do I ever begin

You block my attempts to make things right
You hate and scorn
I would give my life to have a chance
To hold you once more and give you peace.
