A thousand regrets
from a thousand lifetimes ago.
Like the discarded ash
off the end of a lit cigarette.
...
Silent surrender
sliding into the abyss.
See crescent moons of ruby
...
I love you more than most
but your only a ghost
a dream, a wish, a faded memory
tucked away.

A Thousand Regrets
A thousand regrets
from a thousand lifetimes ago.
Like the discarded ash
off the end of a lit cigarette.
That one precious moment in time
tossed away like a victim less crime.
More than a few years young
with no courage of the tongue
or willingness to act
to thwart this damaged life.
A thousand regrets
with no expiration date.
Illuminating like fireflies
over the vacant soul.
A thousand reasons
to end this facade.
To set in motion
what was preordained
so long ago.
