White, pink, red, orange beams
Coming in a neat succession
I enjoyed sunset at Kanyakumari
In a tranquil meditation
...

Joy or pain, hard to reconcile,
My birthday on eighteenth
Gave me a drive to strive incessantly
On the path of glory untiringly
...

My son sweet and sound,
A soul quite difficult to found,
With a face pretty and round
And eyes always to astound.
...

A child, chubby cheeked, pink in health
Kept moving from lap to lap
In a house of scores,
She grows up by leaps and bounds,

Sunset At Kanyakumari

White, pink, red, orange beams
Coming in a neat succession
I enjoyed sunset at Kanyakumari
In a tranquil meditation
Yes, otherworldly feeling
Full of ecstasy it was
I was enamored how it
Compressed beauty of Nature
In one huge, quiet row
A lovely enthralling
Sight it was.
I saw Earth Sea, and Sky meeting
In a matchless union
To quench the thirst of
The parched throated denizens of the world
Beset with moans, groans
And pains of grief
To sooth, to calm and relish
The lovelier nature and the benign
Goddess in Kanyakumari
The Virgin Goddess is
Embodied in Sea, Earth and Sky
Sometimes she changes Her
Form and colour and reflects Herself in sea.

And blesses the devotees
With whiteness serene and pure,
Blueness tranquil and calm
Rich green with bliss of prosperity.
Redness with tinge of optimism
And zest for life
Orange hues spreading and
Sprinkling vermilion on the forehead of men and women alike
To awaken them from their
Sleep and ennui

Only a pilgrim, knows
How surreal the
Entire flora and fauna was
As the Goddess has virtually
To prepare them for their
Sacrifice at the altar of life and love
Life, indeed is a grim battle
But people who fight it well
Make it inspirational
Like Vivekananda and
Gandhi who went there
And made their sojourn
Worth cherishing and memorable
And that speaks of the
Unity in diversity of the Mother Goddess India
As they hang downward
To touch the water
For everywhere the Goddess is enshrined
I really wonder how one can hear the footsteps of
Her divine miraculous feet
That enlivened even a
Ray of sun straw of grass, a speck of dust
And every single heap of cloud in the sky.
