Lilliana Rose Biography

Lilliana has grown up on a farm in South Australia, played with DNA, taught science, contemplated Jung’s theories, and travelled, which has fed her imagination and spurred her to write. With over 30 poems published her poetry and short stories are spreading wings, extending out to various magazines and journals around the world. ‘Creating Wings’ is her first collection of poetry published in 2012. She has a Masters in Creative Writing at Adelaide University and has a tendency to get (just a little) grumpy if she doesn’t write every day.)

Wanting

I am going to fall in love
with you slowly
& bring back chivalry
let you kiss me
hold my hand
open the door
for me

I am going to bring you
to the edge and hold you
there in the space
full of bliss, the second
before peaking
pretending we are
stuck in this joy

I am going to ride you
high into the sky
past the stars
towards a black hole
where we can be sucked together

I want to press my breasts
hard into your chest
fold my arms around you
feel your weight on me
lifting me upwards

I want you to reach into
my chest and pull out
my heart, hold it gently
between us
blood binding us

I want to do the same to you
so we can join our hearts
in the air & hold
them both in the light
forever.
