A Soul Incomplete

It’s been said love is blind, but it is not dumb,
Years go by and all you feel inside is numb.
Times spent on searching for that one,
Not wasted but perfected like the rising of the sun.
Things never seen in others make us doubt our reflection,
Time is unkind never to return makes us pause for introspection.

Looking for love like a rhyme and a reason,
Lovers come and go like the changing of the seasons.
Always afraid of the passion deep inside, like a burning flame
Moths draw near afraid to commit to a love that never will tame.
A kind of love that rings so true indeed is no great feat,
Leaving one always broken hearted, a soul incomplete.

Only when two people come before one another with emptiness
Only nothing but a selfless caring love can fill that void I must confess.
Time seems to stand still as two best friends ever draw near,
In the quiet calming peace that overwhelms the soul with nothing to fear.
Words easily flow from the depths of my heart where you always did reside,
A true soul mate many seek but never find that someone to always stand by their side.
