Louise Hillman Poems

The tears they fall, glistening upon my cheeks,
falling unfounded, amongst all that's lost.
Towards what is it that my heart seeks?
The price to pay? How much does a heart cost?
...

Voices calling to me; oh so loud.
Voices calling to me; i ignore their sounds.
They fight within me, they fight against me,
their goal-to drown out my rationality.
...

I'm ready to leave this Earth dear Lord,
I am ready and waiting for you to come forward.
I am ready for the stresses and pain to go away,
I am ready and waiting for a better day.

Lost Amid Unknown

The tears they fall, glistening upon my cheeks,
falling unfounded, amongst all that's lost.
Towards what is it that my heart seeks?
The price to pay? How much does a heart cost?

There is no map, there is no handbook,
there's no directions, nobody to tell me which way to look.
There's not one path, there's no one sign,
the turns we take are supposed to be of our design.

How many ways can one split their heart,
before the seams simply fall apart?
How many sacrfices can we take?
Sacrifices for other people's sake.

How many times can we say yes, when we really mean no?
Which way is my life supposed to go?
But there is no right or wrong,
each has consequences-the list is long.

So at a crossorad of the unknown or the same,
the risky or the tame.
Which and how do you choose?
Which path do you refuse?

Your own ultimate fullfilling happiness against,
someone elses heartbreak or angst?
Or your own mere incomplete happiness for,
their utter complete joy for longer more?

When love is safe and secure,
and your future, your here and now is obscure.
When the path is covered in mist,
to which way do you enlist?

I'm lost, please find me, hold my hand; don't let go,
as my life blows me to and fro.
The more I find, the less I know,
the less I know, the more I lose control.
