Cruel Emotion

like a wing clipped eagle
or a caged up dove
be for warned
of this cruel emotion called love

it can make you fly high
to discover new heights
it can make you give up
and take away all your fight

it can make you feel lonely
feel empty inside
make you call on your friends
while you sit and confide

when your riding cloud nine
from this emotions birth
guard you heart when it's through
for you'll come crashing to earth

the sensation you feel
from those 4 little letters
from that someone that's special
that feeling could'nt be better

but this i can tell you
from loves little game
it can make you complete
or it can drive you insane

it can make you cold hearted
make you wish you would die
more often than not
you'll sit in loves shadow all alone and just cry

the cruelties of love
in this thing we call life
can at times be a blessing
but most times causes strife

i could tell you how painful
this emotion can be
just live life to the fullest
be patient you'll see

at the end of your life
when you sit and reflect
please take heed in my words
make true love not your only regret
