Dear brother in the poet-craft Daniel Brick, whose poems you can read here in PH, 'got me' and my poetry well. I quote him from his essay here: 'Reading his poems for the first time, I did not know until I was in a particular poem that it was indeed a religious poem. And I'm sure that is the way Glen wants his religious poems to be read: the religious elements of such a poem unfold gradually in the reader's mind as he or she encounters them in their human context. It is our common humanity which the poems reveal, and in some there is the plus factor of the Christian faith embedded in the whole... Persuasion is the key tone of his poems. Things happen, some big in scale, but others small or very small, and when they are narrated with sensitivity, they can all provide lessons in faith which enter our minds as facts of existence and are lodged in our hearts as examples of grace.'
