Mandy Mkwanazi Sotwili Poems

Every year, on Mother's day
You sit quietly in the darkness and fix your eyes to the wall.
Suddenly you feel helpless and alone in the Universe, you hear noise from your window like the sounds of the ocean. You then remember your security, your confidant and your warm blanket, your Shield yes! The one who always loved you unconditionally.
...

I could not understand what was wrong with me that would make you not want to be with me, I am a beautiful Rose, a strong child of the Universe inside and out...I have a very beautiful structure and when I walk everyone stares! I am me a proud, intelligent, extremely Gorgeous Goddess, I am Love...

For days I sobbed and isolated myself from the world,
You were my everything and I had made sure that my world revolved around you,

Mandy Mkwanazi Sotwili Biography

I was born in the Eastern Cape, in a beautiful country called South Africa... I went to Newell high School and Thereafter, P.E college. I am a motivated individual who always love helping others, I am a writer not a poet, I don't believe I deserve enough credit to be called a 'poet' such an honourable name to be called. I love soo much and so deeply, I have been hurt and I am not afraid to be hurt again because I believe that people should be given chances in life. This isn't a biography... This is who I am. I am a free spirited individual who believes in God, I am not a perfect person but I am a great person to be around. I never carry a grudge because I know not to fight with nature or go against the will of God. I have a few good friends and a very loving family. I am the person I am because of my mother Mrs N.E Billie, all that I have and all that I aspire to be has been inspired bt this old woman I adore so much.)

Mother's Day (A Sad Reminder)

Every year, on Mother's day
You sit quietly in the darkness and fix your eyes to the wall.
Suddenly you feel helpless and alone in the Universe, you hear noise from your window like the sounds of the ocean. You then remember your security, your confidant and your warm blanket, your Shield yes! The one who always loved you unconditionally.

It is a feeling of inexplicable abandonment, as if you were left to navigate through this world without your most primal connection, your mother. You keep it going because you have no other choice. you feel you belong to a society all on your own.

... those who still have mothers flaunt and celebrate all around you can't help but envy them, Every mother's day you are reminded that you have no mother! Life is not fair

She's not coming back & sadly we'll never see her again
She won't be there tomorrow
When you lose a mother, there is an accelerated level of maturity that is thrust upon you, ready or not...

I, on the other hand have 3mothers
I do not know how it feels to lose a mother I cannot not begin to imagine it. But if its any consolation, I hope you'll see today as another chance to celebrate the life she lived, as your shield, as your shelter and as the woman who gave you life.
