Crimson Hearts

A couple hearts in cages
Chained upon the iron
A new line from the pages
But old courage from a lion
Blood pours from the weak
But the strong bleed too
And to those who may seek
But to those who don’t approve
They may see what is inside
But at a price they must keep
If pray they tell, they run and hide
For under their skin, blood, will seep
Pain from something so beautifully pure
As the blood drips down your arm and spills on the ground
Is not something that many care to endure
But some people may ask where the switchblade is found
Maybe I could use it
Maybe I could become like them
And maybe a passageway will be lit
For me to see the end
Death doesn’t sound so bad
For someone like me
And most people would be glad
To see my dead body
Cut up and bled out
White and pale and unhealthy
But they would cover their mouths trying not to shout
And they would know that they are all wealthy
From life and love and everything that’s gone
Away from me and away from my sights
From the way you made me forlorn
With all of our fights
Angry and unfair
With all your frustration
To whom only me you share
And my insanity is reaching its completion
As I pick up a small blunt blade
And I pull it towards my veins thinking of you
And see what colour or what shade
That my blood shall seep out from out of the blue
Crimson as a heart on fire
And a fury erupts deep within me
Like a love, or hate, more a burning desire
A secret begins, so that not even you will see
Deeper, deeper I beg the blade in
My mind is on fast forward
And my head starts to swim
Falling too fast backwards
The blade too deep in
To save me now.
