The Elegance Of Lying

My stride: swift, quick, light;
as the air assumes a smile.

Crumbling autumn shares
her decomposition.
Rich burgundies, calming
emeralds and dainty oranges
paved my path.

I always leaned towards the
abstract.

Through a space between
hanging hairs I watch a
pensive man glare.
Depth in his eyes
reflecting:

Stories, glories,
defeats of mischief.
His head tilts, and
through his sorrow
I glimpse a new
morrow.

As he signals me a lie through
a tender edged smile,

Autumn knew all the while.
