I sat down between a dirty mirror and a sapphire skyline.
I never thought I could feel this torn.
Above me, written in fresh red, I saw my destiny.
A physical realm. My oracle.
...

I’ll stroll past the Cactus,
The dessert is where I lay.
He is rooted to the floor,
But I stray away.
...

Stop right here,
we are breathing once again.
I'll be the
first
...

Tell me this is catastrophe bearing its ground;
now don’t sweeten up the truth.
Act like you want this.
We’re all here for you.
...

Tell me what lies behind your lips;
those snakes are dancing around your tounge.
I know you taste it,
I know your hear the songs they play.
...

Claim me to be the leaves on your hands, to understand the rise and fall of all these things that I’m beginning to bring to my senses.
Life and death has no resurrect except the expectation of the liberation of power.
I'll bite my tongue and chew my cheek to prolong your suffering to the extent of its peak and then wash the soil from your eyes and despise every word you speak.
Is this evil or is this a lesson to profess and confess that I'm no guide to the afterlife, but within a lie there’s a reason to lead on such a story for glory and passion.
...

I brush back my heavy eyes,
for the skies have broken into a vivid glow.
I slowly pick up
an empty cup
...

Are you listening in? Did you hear it?
I'm waiting for your final view,
my sweet one,
running about the fall of the fruits from the trees we once believed to be our homes.
...

My eyes awake to a morning glow,

bestow a lantern that guides me to your home.
...

You know I love to lie here

dead center in the road,
...

Faith bows at the arms, from the frost on my tongue,

and the bright-burning flame in my lungs;
...

Everything's safe and sound,

so why don't you shut those soft lids and slither off to a once drifting-
...

We look up to the endless sky, so bright.
The eyes of innocence is hung for now.
Today's a perfect crowd to get it done.
I wonder when the world got so loud.
...

It’s been too long, yet it feels like a weight
has evaporated from my chest, indicating another winter season.
Everything She touches turns gray, so as your memory decaying from the back of my mind.
The fog fades among the lit-smoked chimneys, wondering about the gravel from which I stand upon.

I am bound, locked into an empty cell
Thrown over the edge into a secret well;
Full of faces, hidden by obscurity,
Locked inside, watched by security.

17.

Beautiful wonder stretches from your eyes
You are my desire, my only desire
I’m burning to be caught in your lies
I’m longing to be in between your fire
...

The cascade of carcasses
Buried below the earth
Lie alone
Sleepless in a floral offering
...

Your skeletal frame is rusted
with broken internal guts.
How do you endure?

Melissa Hennessy Biography

From a young age, poetry has been my art. It has been a way for me to paint out my mind with the words and the imagery I feel in my soul. Everything I write comes from my heart, and I mean it with every bit of my being. I hope others can view my work and feel the passion I lay out in my poems. In the future, I await to inscribe a collection of poetry to publish for just my entertainment, and maybe for anyone else willing to give it a chance. Thank you for visiting my page and enjoy!)

Hypnotized

Within the crowd, your blood points you out- a sharp edge about you.
Oh so intrigued by attention.
The span of your audience is wearing thin,
so give it a
hit.
You’re the designer of impostures.
Go ahead; yell
fire!
all you want,
but the water is stolen by the heated neighborhood kids.

Strip away your gems,
you don’t deserve glory.
Your love is tasteless
and your kiss is
deserting…
In history, we’ve never met such a fake.
Hold your weapon on your hip.
1…2...step.
It’s your backwards walk you’ve practiced
with speed and precision.

When the emergency strikes you,
you better not loose your nerve.
Last call for a defeat.
They’ve tied you down
and stripped you of all your
dignity.
A mouth full of blood- this is what you wanted.
The earth has served you scripts of digression.
Just get used to this.
This is what your sick mind has dreamed of.

Condemn the passage you swore was true.
A life story made up in a library of deception.
Such a sweet talker.
Always dragging in the minds of the innocent to feel sorry for you.
So spoiled rotten- everyone has caught on.
Quite intoxicating; this drift of lanes.
You’re so insane.
Right on; you’re seeing my point!
After all, they wish
you were dead.

Don’t try to protect your
“innocence.”
There’s nothing left.
Now you owe it to us
to let us
have our way with you.
It’s the end
of the line
of your hypnotic
destruction.

You're an amazingly perceptive writer for one so young Melissa. As an aside you're a stunning looking girl too, disproving the myth that brains and beauty don't correlate.
