We Met

We met in a place I would not dare mention,
Dark, mysterious with the slight possibility of danger lurking,
I look at you, zoned out by the blaring music,
Thrust from one side to the next caught in the crowd,
I look at you, your face, your smile and your teeth in stark contrast to your cocoa skin…
Our eyes meet from across the room, the moment seems so cliché,
You touch my hand as I walk pass you, intentionally… I just had to see you…
Up close, your eyes hold mine I am… Caught, tangled, ensnared in you… All of you,
Your eyes, those deep soulful eyes, spellbind my heart…
They see right through me, I must be imagining this.
I feel all too familiar with you, my mind reasoning with my heart…
Telling me that we have just met, my mind tells me to shake off the familiar feeling,
Forget The Nigerian my mind screams, they are bad news, corrupt, but my heart lingers on, my heart wants more, my heart simply does not care…
You pull me into your space; I want the force, the sheer electricity of your presence…
