Laying aside His royal crown
Leaving His throne on high
As flesh and bone life’s King came down
For mortal man to die

She starves and fails to understand
Why suffering is rife
Why misery afflicts her land
And plagues with constant strife
...

Believe The One who reigns on high
Who lives though once was dead
Arise when self; has learned to die
And serve the hungry bread
...

Often you say you love me
And be forever true
At times you even bend your knee
To seek my Father’s view
...

We toil and seek for all we’re worth
We’ll rummage, duck and dive
Lustful pursuing throughout the earth
A little while to thrive
...

You know my heart You know my name
My everlasting soul
My wicked wayward walk of shame
Toward my selfish goal
...

Once I was young full foolish pride
Arrogance streamed galore
Self was the king lust was my guide
Living as Satan’s whore
...

You who have ears listen well
Lift up your eyes and see
Heaven is there and endless hell
Waiting for you and me
...

However rich however poor
However here we thrive
Nothing we have will endure
Nor what we see survive
...

Deeper and deeper falling more
Closer and closer still
Higher, higher to God I’ll soar
Because my Saviour will
