For Eden

I cannot hear her cry, so I will answer the cries of others.
I cannot encourage her to crawl, so I will help others to walk.
I cannot listen to her speak, so I will speak for others.
I cannot teach her ABCs, so I will educate those around me.
I cannot watch her live, so I will live, with twice as much passion, for her.
I cannot swoon over her accomplishments, so I will make her proud of mine.
