Autumn leaves raining down
The wind gently blowing eastward
Embracing my soul
As the sun caresses my body

And meticulously place them
In the trunk of the car

Throwing stones with trembling hands
Spewing venom laced with falsehoods
Too shook to sit, too soft to stand

Thinking back I couldn’t phantom
How his judgment could have been so bad
Rising only to plummet yet again
As the heavy sting of retribution

Men of the earth
We have been warned
Repent for the day is at hand
And Hell shall be filled with the unbelievers

Oh heaven I implore you
With all the strength and faith I can muster
Please let me convey just one word
One lone thought, one simple verb
