It was pitch dark, I was sitting still,
With head bent low, drooping shoulders
And eyes, on the floor.
Then…you came! !
...

From the concrete jungle of materialistic pleasures,
From the frenzy of amassing futile treasures,
From the constant fear of losing or winning,
From the endless cycle of falling and sinning,

And We Walked Away!

It was pitch dark, I was sitting still,
With head bent low, drooping shoulders
And eyes, on the floor.
Then…you came! !

Don't know what struck you?
The vacant look on my face,
The wild stresses strewn around,
The tears that glistened on my cheeks,
Or the sheer dejection that my countenance breathed?

You sat down beside me, softly,
I was much too absorbed...
You asked 'Is everything all right? ''
Still lost...I didn't respond!

You gently touched my hand,
And this time, shuddered at your touch,
I gave a start and got up to go,
But you swiftly held me back.

You gazed straight into my eyes,
Probed into my feeble heart,
And whispered, softly, in my ears,
'Don't worry dear, I'm God send! !

I looked into your eyes now,
A divine light seemed to emanate from them,
Your face glowed with a golden hue,
And suddenly, I felt so light....
All the pain, all the hurt, All that had caged me...
Was no more.

I came close, held your hand,
You gave a reassuring smile,
AND WE WALKED AWAY! ! ! !

Away from the darkness that pervaded my soul...
Into the dazzling radiance that beckoned me forth! ! !
