Run To My Bahamas

I have walked the hard mile of life
and carry this burden alone,
At each mile stone I stopped
I think, I soliloquize, and wish
I could run to my Bahamas.

Each mile stone I've reach
I remembered only my progenitors caravan,
and thought I inherited something
I could free myself from,
If only I'd run to my Bahamas.

Each day I reached a fresh mile stone
thoughts of a new challenge excites me,
But those memories of past struggles
haunts like living in the thick forest of Eket,
How then could I run to my Bahamas.

While I prepare to face the last mile stone of life
I wish that the wreath on the capstone
would be the beautiful testimony
adorned a life well spent
when I have reach my Bahamas at last
