Ephemeral Fame

The chants increase and surround me
I begin to stride rhythmically
Shaking my hips vigorously

Pain from my feet begin to decrease
And it's replaced with adrenaline and ease
I am acompanied by a warm breeze

I watched as she leaped and landed on her tip-toe
Like a cat regaining balance after being thrown
she still has her delicate and pointy nose
She was once a baby but now she has grown
Grown to be the beauty of the show

She twirls and spins so fast i cant see
with one foot on the floor the other near the knee
her body keeps turning but her face is stationary
Honestly she never fails to amaze me

But that was me when I was in my twenties
But i've changed because now im I'm fifty
Premature aging has left me exhausted and empty
The beautiful brown hair is now grey and frizzy
My perfect posture is gone I'm now 'bent double' and petite
The flawless skin now looks prickly and wrinkly
I lay there with curled feet in remebrance of ME
Inaddition to all that i've lost, I can no longer see
Regardless my eyes was opened as i reminiced on my feat
