A Solitary Rose

A solitary rose in the garden
Whispered to herself
These thorns are for my safety
Alas! Still they pluck me up
Stumbling to the decking hall
Placing herself in the smiling wall
How she lost in her own thoughts,
About the warmth of the credulous wind
And the charm of the maternal land
Still she responsibly did her duty
blazing her fragrance and beauty.
