Would I draw a picture?
To show how your life;
Beautifully cast a rainbow to many
Would I write a verse?

Would I draw a picture?
To show how your life;
Beautifully cast a rainbow to many
Would I write a verse?
To share how your life;
So candidly spoke for justice
Would I sing a song?
To voice how your life;
Lyrically inspires many in hope
I would, if I could
Yet so wide and deep is your bequest
Time may not grant my request
Space would fine me of copyright
Still what you made the world feel
Lives forever none can steal
Maya many will forever admire you
Your dazzling smile
Filled with a caring grandeur
Your motherly heart
Teaching the life art in solemn acuity
A true ant you made a banquet
For the globe to dine off her aunt
Angelou let your voice live on
Rest in the solace of the angelic choir
Till life's destiny dawns in ecstasy
Bye Maya Angelou
