Letter From Italy
Along the letter's passages
sentences and words
though I read with eagerness,
compiling all the items she's sent,
to find four simple words
which she has forgotten to send
with ship full of merchandise, as usual.
Hopelessly beaten I sat on floor,
as years I have waited
for her to return
She has forgotten my age and size
as well as to say
"I love you son"
