Odd One Poems

In this room, darkness pervades.
The scent of Death thick
while I lay here in shackles.
The only light comes from a candle's small wick.
...

He sits there,
watching the others.
But not me.
I'm always the odd ball.
...

I do not believe in a deity,
I do not believe in god.
I do not care if I offend you,
Excuse me if this seems odd.

Prisoner In Hades

In this room, darkness pervades.
The scent of Death thick
while I lay here in shackles.
The only light comes from a candle's small wick.

Silence is the only sound,
Darkness the only light.
I am prisoner of this cold inferno,
but I am ready to fight.

The jailor is a creature from my nightmares,
now he is part of this never-ending nightmare.
Watching me with yellow eyes,
his cold, indefferent eyes aglare.

The jailor steps aside
to welcome my true captor.
Fury fills me,
and I spring to attack my arrestor.

He simply laughed
at my weak attempt.
Catching my shackles,
he fills my soul with contempt.

He drags me away
to what I assume is the next
Circle of Hell.
God help him if I get to his neck.

This cell is worse than the first.
Must musks the scent of Death.
Here, in hades, my body lay broken,
my spirit is fading, and I take a few shallow breath.

How I got here, I do not know.
How I will leave, I do not know.
How I will survive, I do not know.
What will happen, I do not know.
But I do know this: If I die, I'm taking everyone with me.
